A healthy diet is not only recommended for humans: animals also need, as you know, a balanced nutrition, appropriate to their species and constitution.
In the case of dogs, there are many owners who commit certain recklessness by giving them products that they consider adequate and safe for their pets, because who can say no to a few watery, greedy eyes and a few growls of supplication? Well, it has to be done. Dogs have their food and we must respect it if we want to take care of our furry friends.
What foods should be avoided?
Broadly speaking, you should be careful with chocolate (it causes heart attacks in large quantities), milk (most animals are lactose intolerant!), ham and other salted meats, avocados (very fatty), onions, raisins and grapes and, although you may find it hard to believe, bones. Try not to give them poultry bones because they can splinter and hurt their throat and stomach.
It is common sense, on the other hand, not to give them caffeine or alcohol, because if it wreaks havoc in humans, imagine what it will do to your pet’s nervous system.
We are what we eat… and so are dogs! Keep an eye on their feeding.
