Cat myths (I)

Cats always land on their feet

These animals have an amazing elasticity and although they can perform breathtaking spins and pirouettes, this does not mean that they are immune to blows. If it falls from a considerable height, it may suffer fractures or damages that compromise the feline’s integrity. Falling on your feet is not synonymous with coming out unscathed.

Cats have a lot of balance and do not fall.

Let your cat lean out of the window or go out on the balcony for a while and you will see how this myth is shattered. The cat has a lot of balance, that’s true: their kinesthetic and vestibular senses are certainly enviable, but they are also very curious and easily misled, so don’t put them to the test. While we’re at it, does that saying that curiosity killed the cat ring a bell?

Cats should drink milk every day

We already saw that lactose was bad for dogs and cats because almost no adult animal is likely to tolerate it. Cat food already comes with all the nutrients your pet needs to be healthy. If you want to give him something to drink, give him water. Check with your veterinarian to see if you can put some milk in her.
