If you’re a cat owner, you’ve probably noticed that feline sleep is one of the most time-consuming activities, right? Speaking in figures, we could put it at around fifty percent of the hours of life spent by an adult cat, which is a lot…

And it is that sleep is not a whim.

If it is very important for humans to sleep well, at least eight hours a day (according to experts and on average), imagine for cats. It is essential that you respect their sleeping hours even if you feel like playing with them or teasing them because, let’s face it, there is nothing more pleasurable than disturbing an animal while it sleeps just to see the look on its face.

Cats dream

Maybe not like us, but it is an established fact that cats have dreams. If you observe your pet, you will find two sleep patterns: one that is lighter, nap-like, and one that is deeper (the important one) where rapid brain waves and, therefore, REM phase have been detected. Thanks to cats, we know many things about human sleep, as they have been used in countless studies.
