Signs that your cat cares about you

Escrito por Mundocachorro

Cats are often labeled as indifferent and insensitive, when the reality is that they are beings that can be very affectionate and are capable of establishing deep bonds with the people who care for them. When a cat cares about you, it will leave you some signs that will give you clues about its behavior.

In fact, kittens show their love in a different way than other animals. That is why their behavior is often misunderstood. The reality is that you can pay attention to the way your cat interacts with you and notice that he cares about you.

Signs of love from your cat

As we said before, cats tend to express their affection and care in a different way than dogs or other animals. In this post we detail some signs or signals that may indicate that your cat cares about you. Here are some signs to watch out for:

  • Eye contact and slow blinking: If your cat looks directly into your eyes and then blinks slowly, it is a sign that he trusts you and considers you part of his social circle. You can respond by blinking slowly as well, which reinforces this language of feline affection.
  • Rubbing against you: Cats have scent glands on their face and body. If your cat rubs gently against you, he is marking his territory with his scent and showing that he considers you part of his safe space.
  • Purring: Purring is one of the clearest ways cats express their happiness and comfort. If your cat purrs when he is near you, it is a sign that he feels safe and content in your company.
  • Following and watching you: If your cat follows you around the house or watches you attentively as you go about your activities, it is an indication that he is interested in you and wants to be near you.
  • Bringing treats: Although it may seem strange, if your cat brings you “treats” such as toys or prey, it is his way of sharing his hunting success with you. It is a sign of trust and care.
  • Seeking your attention: If your cat actively seeks you out for petting and play or attention, it is a sign that he enjoys your company and is comfortable with you.
  • Sleeping close to you: If your cat chooses places to sleep near you, such as on your lap or near your bed, it is a sign that he feels safe in your presence.
  • Licking and grooming: If your cat gently licks or grooms you, it is similar to the behavior they use to care for other members of their feline family. He is showing you care and affection.

Each kitten is unique

In general, if your cat follows you around the house, curls up next to you, greets you warmly when you come home, is interested in your words, and responds to your petting or changes in his routine with curiosity, it’s a sign that he cares about you. If you notice these signs, it’s a good indication that your cat cares about you.

It is also important to keep in mind that each cat is unique and may show these signs differently. Some cats may be more expressive than others, but over time, you will be able to recognize their character and particularities.
