These small rodents usually have a life expectancy of a couple of years. There are different breeds, including Chinese hamsters, dwarf hamsters and Syrian hamsters. Even if you observe other hamsters in the cage that appear to be discouraged or sick, you should avoid buying any other hamsters from the same cage. This is because hamster diseases are often highly contagious.  <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Another detail to take into account is that it is better to choose young specimens that are easier to train and tame. Choose a cage with good ventilation, easy to clean, with adequate space between the bars so that the animal cannot escape. A cage with good ventilation is very important. Fish tanks are not recommended because they do not have good ventilation.  <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Inside the cage there should be soft bedding, water, an exercise wheel and chew toys.
