If you are interested in having a pet capybara, you should know that they are aquatic animals that need to live in a garden with a pool of a certain size. In addition, they are gregarious animals, so it is advisable to have at least two.  <\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Care for a capybara pet<\/span><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The capybara&#8217;s <strong>habitat<\/strong> must have sufficient outdoor space, as well as a plastic pool in which it can use as it pleases.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">If you are going to adopt <strong>a single specimen<\/strong>, it is preferable that it be male, since it is possible that it adapts better to solitude. In case you can adopt more than one, it can be a male and a female or two females.  <\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Male capybaras <strong>should be sterilized<\/strong> between six and nine months of age. This will prevent them from becoming aggressive.  <\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">In captivity, capybaras feed on watermelon, corn, lettuce and many other fruits and vegetables. It should be noted that <strong>vitamin C supplementation<\/strong> will be necessary to prevent scurvy.  <\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The life expectancy of a captive capybara is around<strong> twelve years<\/strong>. This is double the average lifespan of a capybara in the wild.  <\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">It is necessary to take the capybara to the <strong>veterinarian on a regular basis<\/strong>, just like any other pet. The health professional will be able to evaluate the capybara&#8217;s condition and advise on the necessary care.  <\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">In general, capybaras are tameable animals that can learn different things in captivity. For example, they can learn to ask for food and even show affection.
