In this post we have prepared some key aspects of feeding a rabbit. It is important to know that rabbits are herbivores, so their diet should be mainly composed of herbs and vegetables. That is, your food should be high in fiber and low in fat, protein and calcium. <\/span><\/p>\n

The best food for a rabbit<\/span><\/h2>\n

Hay.<\/b> Hay should be the basis of a rabbit’s diet. Provides essential fiber for digestive and dental health. Fresh grass hay, such as oat hay, Timothy or meadow grass, is ideal. Make sure it is fresh, dust-free and of good quality. To do so, you can buy it in pet stores. <\/span><\/p>\n

Fresh food<\/b>. Rabbits also need a variety of fresh foods. Provides green leafy vegetables such as spinach, parsley, kale and romaine lettuce. Avoid giving iceberg lettuce, as it can cause digestive problems. You can also offer small amounts of other vegetables and herbs such as carrots, celery, broccoli and cilantro. It is important to avoid certain foods in your rabbit’s diet. For example, it is advisable to avoid foods that may be toxic to rabbits. For example, chocolate, onions, garlic, raw potatoes and fruit seeds such as apples. You should also avoid giving them foods rich in starch and sugars, such as bread, cookies and sweets.
